State Intellectual Property Office obtained certificate ISO 27001:2022 on information security

On December 18, 2023, State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) was awarded a certificate for the information security management system in accordance with the requirements of the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard, which confirms that the system has been established and is maintained in accordance with the requirements of the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard. The certificate was issued by the International testing and certification SRL as an authorized body.

The scope of the information security management system for which SIPO has been awarded a certificate includes the implementation of all procedures (national and international) related to the protection of industrial property rights within the competence of the SIPO, from the submission of an application for protection to the recognition or registration of rights, including the procedures for objections, appeals and administrative disputes, and procedures after the recognition or registration of rights, such as maintenance of rights in value, entries and transfers of license rights, changes in industrial property registers maintained by the SIPO and procedures for revoking and canceling rights, as well as all procedures related to the management of human resources, ICT infrastructure, systems and resources.

The obtained certificate confirms the establishment of an information security management system and the SIPO's focus on ensuring the protection of information from all types of threats and risks that could affect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information. In addition, it confirms the SIPO's focus on the needs and satisfaction of users of the intellectual property protection system in terms of ensuring information security in rights protection procedures and other accompanying professional services, which is one of the key values by which SIPO measures and determines its success.
With the established information security management policy, SIPO undertakes that responsible management of information security will be an integral part of its operations, and will follow world trends and continuously improve its technological equipment and continuously work on identifying, preventing and reducing risks for service users, partners, employees and others interested parties.

The information security management system according to the requirements of the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard in SIPO was established in cooperation and with the support of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) as the first national intellectual property office that obtained this certificate within EUIPO's European cooperation projects.
