Memorandum of Understanding Signed with the Visegrad Patent Institute
Memorandum of Understanding between the Office and the Visegrad Patent Institute was signed on 10 March, 2026, in the year of celebrating 35 years of the State Intellectual Property Office.
Visegrad Patent Institute (VPI) is an intergovernmental organisation established by the states of the Visegrad Group for Cooperation in the Field of Patents and it operates as an International Authority for Search and Preliminary Examination according to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).
Memorandum has been signed by Ms Ljiljana Kuterovac, Director General of the Office and Ms Johanna Stadler, Director of the VPI, and signing was attended by Mr Szabolcs Farkas, as a representative of the VPI, President of the Management Board of the VPI and President of the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office, and representatives of the host, Ms Irena Tušek, Director General Deputy and Ms Gordana Turkalj, Head of the Patents Department.
Memorandum establishes the frame of cooperation between the two organisations with an aim to support national and international patent activities via patent search services rendered by the VPI and to promote economic and technological exchange and raising awareness of technical cooperation in the Central Europe.
