WIPO - Croatia Summer School on Intellectual Property completed today in Dubrovnik


The ninth Summer School on Intellectual Property organized by the Academy of the World Intellectual Property Organization with the Head office in Geneva, Switzerland, in cooperation with the State Intellectual Property office and the University of Dubrovnik, has been held in Dubrovnik from June 26 to July 7, 2023.

Summer school has gathered about 20 participants - students of final years of study and junior experts from 10 countries and from Croatia. The school programme covered a number of topics in the field of intellectual property – all forms of intellectual property, as well as various aspects from the protection, use, enforcement and infringement of rights, as well as recent open issues such as the development of new green technologies, biotechnology and biodiversity. The lecturers were experts from the Office and eminent international experts from the level of universities and business sector.

Apart from the theoretical part, the attendees participated in practical teaching in the final part of the program and showed exceptional motivation and a high level of understanding of this area. The program also enabled participants to exchange experiences and practices in different countries, and emphasized the value of intellectual property as a driver of economic, social, cultural and technological development on the global scene.
